What’s New?

Open Enrollment - Ends May 13, 2013

Benefits Open Enrollment for the 2013 plan period has closed.

There will be another open enrollment in the fall, which will allow employees to choose benefits for the January 1 – December 31, 2014 time period.

Please see the Open Enrollment Guide for more details on the upcoming plan year change.

Social Security statements available online

The Social Security Administration on May 1 announced that workers now can get access to their Social Security statements online. According to the announcement, the new online statement provides Social Security-eligible workers with secure access to their Social Security earnings and benefits information at www.socialsecurity.gov/mystatement.

FMLA Procedures
 
All Family Medical Leave Act leaves are handled by the University’s FMLA/Leave Team, which is part of the Central HR/Benefits Office. However, MSUE HR acts as a go-between and assists employees in ensuring they know what to expect, ensure that the Leave Team has appropriate contact information for the employee and keep supervisors informed of leave status. MSUE HR also handles the “leave” information in EBS.

Fall Conference (2011) Session
With the changes in MSU Extension, Administration has made available several opportunities for staff - in addition to the University’s EAP and other services - to assist employees.
 
One of these opportunities was at the 2011 Fall Extension Conference where Jonathon Novello presented on the topic of “Rebuilding A Trusting Workplace.”
